In this connection it is my bounden duty to mention the names of Venerable Pandit Welivitiye Sorata maha Thero, Vice-Principal of Vidyodaya Pirivena. and Venerable Rerukane Candawimala maha Thero, Principal of Sri Vinayalankara Pirivena, Pokunuwita, for the valuable advice and help given to me.
I was able to place these books before the Buddhist public both the lay and the Sangha through the financial assistance given by Robert Sydney Ellawala Disawa J, P. U. M. Trustee of Sripada at the request of the Public Trustee and his board of advisers.
This generous offer on the part of these gentlemen will help to keep the torch of the sublime teaching of the Tathagata ever burning.
I shall be failing in my duty if I fail to express my thankfulness to Bhikku Bendaluve Dheerananda forcorrecting the proofs of the present text, and also to Mr. Harold Weragama. (M. P. Niwitigala) for the assistance given me to print the Tripitaka
A certain number of copies of each text to be printed from the Tripitaka in this manner will be distributed free among the recognized Buddhist institutions in Ceylon as well as abroad.
